Why Choose Tasmanian and Ora Salmon in Winter
Tasmanian salmon is known for its vibrant colour, firm texture, and clean, fresh flavour. Raised in the pristine waters around Tasmania, this salmon benefits from cold, nutrient-rich environments that enhance its quality. Ora salmon, sourced from New Zealand, is prized for its delicate flavour and buttery texture. It is farmed sustainably with strict quality controls, ensuring a premium product.
Both types of salmon are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and essential vitamins, making them excellent choices for nourishing winter meals. Their firm flesh holds up well to various cooking methods, from roasting to poaching, allowing for versatile recipe options.
Preparing Salmon for Winter Recipes
Before diving into recipes, here are some tips to get the best results with Tasmanian and Ora salmon:
Pat the salmon dry before cooking to achieve a crispy skin or perfect sear.
Use simple seasoning like salt, pepper, lemon, and herbs to highlight the natural taste.
Cook salmon to an internal temperature of about 125°F (52°C) for medium doneness, which keeps it moist and tender.
